'Best images'

The images selected here are the ten that I think best represented my theme and the ten that I think could be linked to the themes given to me.This image shows someone playing at a gig in a club. This was the first time that they played sperate from their band, this image capturing the moment in time that took an independent step into their own music. To the person within this picture, this would be a memory they would cherish for hopefully a long time to come as its their first step to becoming their own person .
This picture was taken at the second rugby game I have ever been too, rugby is a sport im extremely passionate about but haven't had many opportunities to see a game in person. This was a warm up game for the World Cup and it was just my mum, my sister and myself and it's a memory I hold really dearly as it's something we did together as a family.

Bikes left in stands in Rugby outside the school of Rugby. The style of the bikes mimics the style of the town with traces back to historic moments in time, for example where the sport of rugby was founded. Showing how traces of years and years that have past still show in today's society.
The idea of a train ticket lying abandoned on the floor, is a trace of someone's journey, making the people who see it on a daily basis or someone looking at this image wonder where someone has been, where they are going and why. It shows a slight insight into the persons life and the memories they made however small that day.
Here many layers of graffiti have been painted on top of each other, over years this has developed, only slightly but shows how over time things gradually change and develop much like the art work here. The alotment behind that gate looks to have not been used in a long time so only a trace of it remains, now covered in over grown folliage and graffiti.
This is an image of David Cameron spray painted on a wall in frinsbury park, London. The writing is now faded but seems to have a trace of a slightly explicit sentence. Maybe showing how someone has a strong opinion of the way our country is run and people have tried to get rid of this, making this a controversial picture. Showing traces of people's opinions and the way that even in a place where freedom of speech is celebrated speaking are minds and expressing our selves is still not ok.
This picture was taken in a quary while doing Via Ferrata. During the summer I took part in NCS a government run programme which is designed to push young adults out of their comfort zones and aims to help us out back into our society. For me this whole experience was life changing and honestly some of the best memories I have. This particular picture is of my instructor for Via Ferrata, I was terrified yet still managed to attempt it which is a memory I hold so close to me because if I tried this I can try anything that scares me.
This was not a planned picture and the people in the scene weren't aware of me taking it. I love this picture, all the colours are muted and faded and the smoke shows a trace of what was once there. This particular place is in the middle of a forest, which is hard to find and isolated with barely a trace of the busy town near by.
If I had the time or capability I would love to do a time lapse of this bus stop. As it would show the sheer amount of people that use this day in and day out. I feel this would also show how time changes each day with different people going to different places.
A section of a club in Leicestershire ceiling. The idea of this club is that the decor is created by each band that passes through the club adding their own mark to venue. Showing traces of different bands from all over the world, as many of the posters have words in different languages. As each new layer is added over time to the walls the previous bands become faded memories as their mark on the walls have been covered.

Images to show the theme of the different aspects of the society aroundus

The majority of these photos are taken locally around me however some are from major cities, bars and places I've been to recently.

Climbing instructor and younger man hanging upside down from a wire, while doing Via Ferrata in a quarry.
Both of the above images come from the fire pit at Fosse meadows in Lutterworth. People pictured are friends of mine. This in a way showing how places in woodlands which is far away from the busses of everyday society can still have their own personalitys.
Photographs above are all off grafti around where I live. Many have phrases which showing how people express themselves through their use of spray paints.
These two photos are ceilings of different clubs that I've been too. I find that many clubs I go to that bands play at express the style of the venue through art work. The top image is off a ceiling in a bar in London where the whole bar was themed with football. The bottom is off a club called the shed in Leicester where every band that plays places a sticker or poster on the walls. So every inch of the club looks like this, these were just ones that interested me. The amount of art on the walls conveying how people in society come together in places of music to bring life to buildings and helps to give places their personality.
Image of David Cameron sprayed onto a wall on London with explcit language, controversial street art in London. Showing some people in society's view on our government.
As going to gigs and concerts is a big part of my life and interests you get to know people that are in that crowd of people. Showing a different face to people we see everyday.
A street artist in Leicester playing the steel drums and busking for money, showing the ways some people in society make a living.
From the wasps v Samoa friendly game recently showing how sport is a massive community in everyday life.
All these four photos are taken on the way travelling home from college, showing just some of the aspects people who commute everywhere see on an everyday basis.
Both of these photos show how easily it is to chuck things into greenery and ruin the natural flora and fauna that we take for granted daily.
Many places in small towns and cities have often been closed and left empty. Which like the shutters closed here and bars blocking off greenery, create a darker image to our community making it seem run down and uninviting.
A local tattoo shop, the art of tattoos and the style can often seem controversial in everyday society and the pin up here on the front of the shop challenges that.
Like in many places with pound shops now on every corner, there's shop that sell 'everything', which I guess in a metaphorical way show how diverse society is for all the things each group of individuals need.
Along with the pictures I have from bars and clubs I think this shows how open drinking is in our lives now as this is on a street corner for anyone who walks past to see.
